You play from the brick side
I made a game where you become a block in Breakout and survive until the end.
MP, a creator who works in game making and DTM, built Last Brick Standing around a single role swap. In ordinary Breakout you steer the paddle and clear the wall. Here you are a block inside that wall, and the round is about staying alive while the breaker does its work.
The win condition stated so far is survival to the end: outlast the rest of the blocks. That is the whole pitch in the October 13, 2026 announcement. The appeal is the awkward loyalty flip. Every clean hit that would feel satisfying in classic Breakout is now a threat aimed at you.
- Your side
You are a brick in the formation, part of the wall the ball is trying to erase.
- The finish
Last until the end. Being the block that is still there is the stated goal.
- The joke
The familiar arcade toy is intact. Only your allegiance changes, which is what makes a routine clear suddenly tense.
Random matches are already in the preview
The shown version is multiplayer. Random matching pairs you into a Breakout session with other people who are also playing as blocks. Survival stops being a private dare against the ball and becomes a contest over who is still on the board when the round ends.
That is the main way it sits next to other short browser party games: a rule everyone already knows, a two-second role explanation, then a shared round. Classic solo Breakout rewards clearing every brick. This version rewards being the brick the session cannot quite finish off.
| Version of the idea | Who you are | What counts as winning |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Breakout | The paddle | Clear the blocks |
| Last Brick Standing | A block | Survive until the end |
| Shown multiplayer | A block among matched players | Still be standing when the match ends |
What a preview can and cannot tell you
No public build, download, or official page has been published. MP has only shown the game in a short preview tied to the announcement, so there is nothing you can open and play yet. Exact controls, scoring numbers, stage list, and difficulty curve have not been spelled out.
Until a playable release exists, strategy stays at the premise: you are trying not to be the block that disappears. Treat any pad layout, power-up, or score table you see described elsewhere as unconfirmed. The confirmed pieces are the brick-side survival goal, random-match online play, the creator MP, and the October 13, 2026 announcement.
FAQ
Can I play Last Brick Standing right now?
No. MP has only shown a short preview. No public build, download, or official page is available yet.
Is the online mode just a plan?
Random matching is already part of the version MP has shown. You still cannot join it, because that build has not been released.
